bee business: animation experiment
Thinking in motion—moving elements—temporally, is challenging for me. I am used to thinking statically and in in the context of mediums that are inherently more fixed; where the motion is in the solitary brush stroke, pencil movement, or pasting of paper to surface. To think of movement, in time and space, to animate a creation, to make it move, is a different level of complexity—it's hard and also a weirdly satisfying brain exercise. Still, more times than not, it is a method, a practice that is very much a work-in-process (and often a bridge too far). In addition to thinking in motion terms is linking that movement to sound. Also, a bridge (so far, too far). It's a goal I have, but wow, do I need a lot more time and experience moving elements around before I can associate them with a complimentary soundtrack.
Above is a _very _short motion experiment—crude and brief—about all I can generate right now! This was done using Toonsquid on an iPad. I have also been messing around with Procreate Dreams. Currently, Toonsquid is more intuitive for me and has been where I spend most of my animation time creating and exploring. All of it has been a creative exercise that expands my awareness of time and space, makes my brain hurt(!), and is wildly satisfying.
